Objective:
To lay down a procedure to describe Cleaning of Glassware. 

Scope:
Applicable to cleaning of glassware used in Quality Control Laboratory.

Responsibility:
Lab Attendant  – Quality Control

Accountability:
Head  - Quality Control

Cleaning Of Glassware

Procedure:

1. Dip the used glassware in 1% labolene or equivalent neutral detergent solution for approximately10 minutes.
2. Drain off liquid detergent and scrub the glassware with a soft brush.
3. Wash the glassware with tap water to remove the detergent.
4. Clean glassware with dilute Nitric acid solution, if glassware is  clouded or dirty
5. Finally rinse the glassware twice with Purified water.
6. Keep glassware for 1 hour for drying in an oven, wherever required.
7. Keep the glassware at the designated place for further use.
8. Rinse all the new glassware twice with purified water, if the glassware is clouded or dirty then clean with dilute Nitric acid solution and rinse twice with purified water.
